Instagram’s Edits App Adds Enhanced Video Cropping, Provides Tips on Video Quality
Instagram’s new Edits app has rolled out enhanced cropping options, making it easier to trim and refine content within the app.
Edits Product Lead Tom Bender also noted that Reels with higher visual quality tend to get more engagement, and the following settings can improve output quality:
- Film & export at 2K, ensuring sharpness in your clips .
- 30 is the default frame rate for most videos, but 24 gives a “dreamy motion blur” look while 60 looks hyper-real, like reality TV (because everyone knows reality TV is as real as it gets).
- High dynamic range (HDR) can preserve a broader range of color and contrast, which can make videos look more engaging.
- Use the integrated “Share to Instagram” button within the Edits app to ensure Instagram viewers see a higher quality version.

TikTok Adds More Accessibility Features, Including Alt Text for Photos
TikTok recognized Global Accessibility Awareness Day this month by launching new updates to its accessibility features. These include the introduction of alt-text for photos, improved text display options and adjustable color contrast—all aimed at making the platform more inclusive for users with disabilities. TikTok emphasized its commitment to building a platform where everyone feels seen and heard, framing accessibility as both a responsibility and a chance for innovation.
One key update is the expansion of alt-text functionality to photo posts, allowing users to add descriptive text either during the upload process or after publishing. This feature enhances the platform’s usability for people who are blind or have low vision. Combined with existing tools like auto-generated captions and text-to-speech for videos, TikTok now offers more comprehensive accessibility across its visual content.
Additionally, TikTok has introduced a color contrast switch that increases the visibility of on-screen elements for users with low vision. The app will also now follow a user’s device setting for bold text, automatically applying it throughout the interface when enabled. These updates build on TikTok’s existing accessibility offerings, which include text-size controls, dark mode and photosensitivity settings, underscoring the platform’s continued effort to make digital spaces more inclusive for everyone.

TikTok in Motion: Truluck’s Launches TikTok Account
The Motion team recently launched a TikTok account for our client Truluck’s to help bring the brand’s upscale seafood and steak experience to a younger, more social-savvy audience. To capture content at all locations, they’ve teamed up with “user-generated content (UGC) Purveyors” at all 12 Truluck’s locations around the country. These selected employees help capture real, behind-the-scenes footage and help us bring trending TikTok ideas to life each month.
With customized content briefs sent out monthly, the team can keep things fun, relevant and true to the Truluck’s brand, showcasing everything from signature dishes to the employee experience in a way that resonates online. These videos are ideated for TikTok, but the team cross promotes them across Instagram, Facebook and X channels to maximize reach and impressions.
Check out the first of many TikToks now live on Truluck’s account. Be sure to follow along @TrulucksRestaurant for fresh content every month!
